They can protect this right if you ever become mentally or physically unable to communicate your wishes due to an injury or illness, such as brain damage, permanent coma, and\/or terminal illness.<\/p>\n\t\t                 <p>Advanced directives can help:<\/p>\n\t\t                 <ul>\n\t\t                 \t<li>You protect your right to make medical choices that can affect your life<\/li>\n\t\t                    <li>Your family avoid the responsibility and stress of making difficult decisions<\/li>\n\t\t                    <li>Your physician by providing guidelines for your care<\/li>\n\t\t                 <\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-md-6 mb-4\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"types-box\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Types of Advanced Directives<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li><h4>Living Wills<\/h4><\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>These are written instructions that explain your wishes regarding health care if you are terminally ill or in a permanent coma, and are unable to communicate. Medical records and communications with your physicians must be kept private.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Informed Consent<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Your physician must clearly explain the advantages and risks of any procedures, tests, or treatments.
